Before you send me mail...
I created this document set to give you the reader enough information to get going with GPS and to help you find additional information on the internet.
Please don't...
- Ask me technical details about specific equipment.
- I have only used a small number of the GPS equipment on the market and probably don't have personal experience with the unit you want. Instead, check the Intro to GPS Apps Archive or post your question to the sci.geo.satellite-nav newsgroup.
- Ask me for GPS marketing information....
- ...Because I don't have any. Instead, try the Navtech Bookstore. They have a few different market reports which they will be happy to sell you.
- Ask me to send you all the information I have on GPS
- That's what this document set is for - so you can do research yourself. I'm afraid I don't have the time, interest or cash to photocopy all the documentation I've got on GPS so I can ship it to you. Sorry!
- Ask me technical questions without reading this document
- I've put a lot of effort into this document set with the intent of helping you find the answers to your questions. Please be sure to do your own research before asking me for technical questions. On the other hand, if you have done your research and still can't find the answer, then go ahead and ask.
- Ask for a price list
- I don't sell anything, I'm just an information resource. For a list of vendors, please see the equipment manufacturer and reseller pages.
Please do....
- Let me know when links aren't working.
- I try hard to keep the links up-to-date but it's impossible to track them all. Such is the nature of the internet. I may not be able to fix them right away but be assured I will save your mail and fix it when I can.
- Let me know about typos, technical errors, incorrect info...
- But be sure to send me the complete URL of the page and the location of the error in the document. Without this info, I won't be able to find the error to fix it.
- Send me reivews of any equipment you have used.
- A lot of people are looking for information on practical experiences with GPS equipment, much more than I can supply all by myself. By writing a review of your experiences, you can help a lot of people. If you send your review directly to gps_reviews@redsword.com, your review will be posted immediately for all to see.
- Post questions to the sci.geo.satellite-nav newsgroup.
- The sci.geo.satellite-nav newsgroup is the official usenet newsgroup dedicated to GPS issues. There are a lot of people there with more experience and opinions than you can get from this document alone.
Still need to send me mail?
